Caroline is a graduate of Brenneke School of Massage and Pacific Institute’s Yoga Teacher Training (RYT 200). She has a BA in History and Art History. She has studied and traveled to Egypt, Peru and Europe for over 15 years with several highly regarded energy and sound healers.
Caroline brings years of experience with Swedish massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Acupressure, the deeply relaxing, long, slow strokes of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, and Tibetan Head Massage. She is certified in Intraoral Massage and is currently training in Bowen Therapy. All theses modalities are very useful for chronic pain, injury treatment, and stress reducing relaxation. Caroline has practised Yoga for many years and became a certified Yoga teacher in 2012. This training allows her to incorporate Yoga postures and Pranayama (breathing techniques) into a session to help prevent injury and to extend the effectiveness of the massage work.
Caroline’s practice began to transform after one of her knees deteriorated combined with major abdominal surgery a few years later. After surgery she had a lot of down time and used it to meditate more often. It became evident that the more she meditated the less she ached! (She experimented with cutting back on the meditation and the aches returned!) Somehow meditation is able to release stress on the nervous system which disappears aches in the body. By helping clients find the still point in meditation through her energy work, she is able to help them release long held physical and emotional aches.
